Covid Crawl Round

60 miles, 17,900 feet

I am fortunate to live in a beautiful place on the edge of the Lake District. When the Covid 19 epidemic hit in March 2020, it was a real blessing to be based in such a place, with restrictions on travel meaning you could only exercise from the front door, and this exercise had to be limited to once a day.  However, no explicit restriction was placed on the duration of this exercise so my runs from the door got longer and longer in an attempt to add some variety.23 miles extended to 27 to 30, and then to 45 before culminating in this very natural round of 60 miles taking in the Eastern side of the Lakes.  It made an enjoyable round that will always be synonymous with the rather strange emptiness of the hills and the brilliance of the blue skies, free of areoplane trails.
