Classic round of Glencoe and Etive, 52 miles, 27,700 feet, 28 hours 55 minutes

A superb combination of scramblng and walking/running over very rough and steep ground. Don't be fooled by the relatively short distance. This one's hard!

Hi John,

I've enjoyed reading your accounts of your epic long distance challenges. Great stuff.

I tried the tranter round as a 3 day backpacking expedition in May. The weather was poor and our hearts weren't in it, and so we gave up on the Aonach Eagach / Sgurr Choinnich Beg col.

Have resolved to return next year with a lighter pack, and hopefully clear weather. Anyway, this all brings home the enormity of these challenges.

Looking forward to seeing the account of the next one.

All the best

Tom
