This is the culprit that enticed in to fell running and long distance challenges in particular. Moving to the Lakes the year before meant that I had become of the challenge and being a fit walker and mountaineer, decided that I stood a chance. 6 weeks of 'training' - mainly very slow runs in the mist - and I was 'ready'. To this day I'm not sure how I got round. I did everything wrong - started off too fast, didn't eat or drink enough, my support ran off in to the distance when I needed them and the weather took a turn for the worse.
